Dr. Goins is a board certified pediatric dentist who has years of experience working with children. He and his team deliver outstanding children’s dentistry using the latest in advanced equipment and techniques. Dr. Goins gives each child personal attention and makes them feel special so that kids can begin life with a positive view of dentists.

Dr. Clay is a native of Chattanooga and attended dental school at the University of Tennessee, where he earned his doctorate of dental surgery degree and graduated with honors in 2003.  He completed his pediatric dentistry residency at the University of Kentucky and Kosair Children’s Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year. Dr. Goins is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

As a compassionate, well-trained professional, Dr. Goins receives ongoing training in order to provide top notch dental care to patients. He is committed to helping each child achieve and maintain a healthy and beautiful smile.

Caring for Your Teeth

The team at Children’s Dentistry of Chattanooga takes extra time with each child to help them understand the importance of caring for their teeth. They also show them how to brush and floss and answer their questions. Dr. Goins has received special training in child psychology that equips him to be able to relate to children better. His goal is to assist each family in developing good daily dental habits.

The office is open for business on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with lunch from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. each day.

Though we know that your schedule can change at times, we have held an appointment time especially to you. Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel an appointment so that we can attempt to fill your appointment time. We reserve the right to charge a fee for broken appointments with little or no notice.


Our office accepts most forms of insurance, but because insurance policies vary, we are only able to estimate your coverage amounts. All estimates are made in good faith but we cannot guarantee coverage. As a service to our patients, we bill your insurance company for services, but please pay your estimated patient portion at the time of service. Our team is always available to answer your questions, so please let us know if you need help with insurance or other matters.
